The 2017 Montara Chardonnay is a classy wine of exceptional quality displaying fresh acidity and purity of fruit with balanced French oak. A wine that shows complexity and interest on the nose and palate – the supporting oak has effortlessly soaked up the natural acidity and is beautifully integrated. Enjoy alongside roasted chicken with a lemon juice, sage, and garlic butter rub.
Aromatics: Stone fruit, lemon rind, struck match. Lifted savoury notes of French oak.
Palate: White nectarine and lemon juice with zingy natural acidity. Oak contributes structure and palate depth whilst complimenting fruit freshness and length.
Cellaring Potential: 5+ years
The 2017 Montara Pinot Noir is stellar example and exceptional vintage of Grampians Pinot Noir blended from estate planted vineyards ranging in age from 20-45 years. It shows great drinkability on release, but will reward with careful further cellaring. An ideal accompaniment to duck or spicy pork dishes.
Aromatics: Aromas of mulberries and dark cherry, rose water and spicy leaf
Palate: Soft textured red to blue berry fruits, cherry cola, milk chocolate and savoury spice. Stemmy tannins add complexity and interest to the palate. Subtle oak provides background depth and support.
