Picked early in early March from the oldest pinot noir vineyard at Montara, the 2014 Chalambar Road Reserve Pinot Noir shows lifted red berry fruit, spice, and sweet cedar on the nose. The palate displays complex sour cherry, crunchy red fruits, and savoury tannins, leading to a silky rounded finish. This wine was made with minimal intervention and produced utilising traditional methods including hand pruning, hand harvesting, and a portion of whole bunch fermentation before being gently pressed to quality Burgundian French oak for a 12 month maturation period. Whilst approachable in its youth, further cellaring will reward. Limited quantities available.
