The 2014 Chalambar Road Reserve Shiraz was handpicked from some of the oldest vines at Montara, the elevated “House Block” vineyard, planted in 1972. Waves of ripe, dark fruits and intense cedary oak on the nose, with a palate full of brooding dark plum, fruit compote and pudding flavours. Super ripe tannins, generous fruit and oak, and a rich, cedary finish. An incredibly age-worthy wine – patience will reward. Enjoy with a juicy eye fillet steak. *95 points, James Halliday Wine Companion
